BEEBE Gov. Mike Beebe appointed Donna Yingling to the Arkansas Apprenticeship Coordination Steering Committee board.
The Arkansas Apprenticeship Coordination Steering Committee was created by Arkansas Code §6-52-204 and was formed for the purpose of promoting apprenticeship training in the state of Arkansas. The committee is responsible for reviewing all applications for funding (Annual Grant Awards and CT Grants) and for designing funding guidelines for Traditional Apprenticeship and Construction Training Funds.
Yingling is the administrator for the White County Plumbing Apprenticeship Program, as well as the North Central Electrical Apprenticeship Program. She also serves on the North Central Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship Committee and the North Central HVAC ApprenticeshipCommittee. She works closely with the programs, instructors, employers and apprentices for each program. Yingling has been instrumental in starting several apprenticeship programs in the state.
“I truly believe in the benefits of apprenticeship training in the state of Arkansas,” Yingling said. “I am passionate about apprentices who desire to succeed in a trade and believe that it not only benefits our community, but also our state. Apprenticeship training also provides a strong well-trained workforce.”
Yingling and her husband, Ellis, reside in Searcy. She has been an employee of Arkansas State University-Beebe for 11 years and serves as Program Coordinator for the Economic Development Center on the Searcy campus.
