Jail trusty on lam after garbage-truck jump, authorities say

FORDYCE — Dallas County authorities say they’re searching for a jail trusty who jumped off a garbage truck where he had been working on a county trash crew.
The sheriff’s office said 19-year-old Jacario Cranford jumped off the truck Tuesday as it was finishing its route and heading back to the jail. Cranford had been working on the trash crew for several weeks.
Cranford was serving a 10-year sentence for attempted capital murder and aggravated robbery.
