LITTLE ROCK Arkansas’ lottery is considering whether to offer both Mega Millions and Powerball tickets.
The state’s lottery commission planned to vote Tuesday on whether to sell Mega Millions tickets starting Jan. 31. Arkansas already sells tickets for the multi-state Powerball game.
The organizations behind the games have agreed in principle to cross-sell tickets for both games beginning next year, but have left it up to individual states to decide whether they’ll participate. Arkansas launched its lottery Sept. 28 with the sale of scratch-off tickets.
Powerball is played in 31 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mega Millions is played in 12 states.
