Holiday Gala Ball to take guests back to life in 1800s

— Jacksonport State Park is sponsoring a Holiday Gala Ball at the Jacksonport Courthouse from 6:30-10 p.m. Saturday. The 52nd Regimental String Band from Memphis, Tenn., will perform melodies of the 19th century.

The evening begins with ballroom dancing instruction in the courtroom. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

Admission is $14 per couple,$8 per single, and children 12 years and younger are free. For people who wish to dress in the style of 1860/70 period, admission is half price. Everyone is encouraged to come whether dressed casual or in period costume.
