Little Rock is considering cutting some of the nearly $9.8 million it spends on outside agencies as it looks for ways to save money next year in the face of lower revenue.
Anticipating a $6.7 million drop in revenue, city officials are considering laying off employees as well as cutting department operations and possibly closing alert centers that provide meeting places and are home to some city code enforcement officers.
City directors, who will have their first discussions Tuesday focused on spending, have also questioned whether Little Rock can continue contributions to outside agencies at the same level.
“I support every one of the arts contributions as being valuable to the city, but it’s a question of ...

Oh yes, Mayor; don't forget the millions for the I-30 ramp you want to build to access the state fairgrounds.

$6.4 million to CATA??? And my single income family is possibly going to lose that income from lay-offs? It's not like I make enough to have this huge savings account stock piled to fall back on either. Looking at cutting jobs and citizen services, but giving CATA $6.4 million when there are hardly ever any people on the buses!

1) The River Rail should have been funded by a regional improvement tax. Let the restaurants and hotels that benefit from the trolley fund the trolley.
2) I've never ridden the trolley, but I still pay for it? That's just great.
3) That's just a redistribution of wealth...from the citizens to the corporations in the river market area.
4) Cities/Counties subsidize the trolley about $7 per rider. That's insane.
5) Every OTHER business in town should be throwing a fit having their tax dollars sent to their competitors.
