— The head of the Federal Communications Commission plans to address students at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service on efforts to increase broadband Internet access across the country.

Julius Genachowski will be joined by Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor at an event Tuesday afternoon at the school in downtown Little Rock.

Genachowski was nominated to the FCC by President Barack Obama earlier this year. Genachowski was an adviser to Obama’s campaign and before that, he spent more than 10 years working in the technology industry.

The federal stimulus package includes $7.2 billion to improve rural Internet access.
