HOT SPRINGS Three Garland County deputies have been placed on temporary leave with pay pending an investigation into the shooting death of a homicide suspect at a Hot Springs hotel last week.
Sheriff Larry Sanders says the action is standard procedure while the Nov. 19 shooting death of 22-year-old Marvin Stringer is investigated by the Hot Springs Police Department.
All three deputies are members of the Garland County Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team. One TRT member, Jason Lawrence, was shot and injured during the incident at the National Park Inn. Sanders did not release the names of the deputies who were placed on leave.
Stringer was a suspect in the Nov. 12 killings of five people during a botched robbery in Pearcy.

I wish all of the suspects lives could have ended that way, only to save our tax dollars. I am proud of all law enforcement that responded when we needed you most!

What an idiot.... a SUSPECT is just that... not guilty till proven otherwise. YES, the guy killed was more than likely involved in the other murders, but he MUST be convicted of that crime in a court FIRST. This comes from a STRONG believer in the death penalty..... ME

Hey ronstailey,in this economy we cant afford the court costs, twenty-two caliber to the temple will do the job. I will go to wal mart and buy a 550 round box and donate it to the prison systems to save us all some money. lol

Although I believe all the suspects should've been shot and killed, I don't trust the judgment of the hot springs police dept.I think they are extremely unexperienced in there own field of work, I would love to see 1 year of training required by Arkansas police Depts. to be done in Los Angeles just to learn to be real cop.I am not a criminal, but I have seen officers from this dept shoot at someone for the stupidest reason, and lie in situations just to cover a fellow officers back, and have even seen a patrol car backed into my apartment complex getting "favors". they are simply security guards with guns, but it is a job and the dept. supports it

it's funny how people attempt to argue about saving tax dollars. The amount of money tax payers will spend in this investigation will cost almost double what it would have costed to arrest the suspects and give them a trial. Study constitutional law folks.
