BOWLING: Shirley dials up 300, increases perfect games to 26

— North Little Rock’s Michael Shirley recorded his 26th 300 game between games of 226 and 246 for a 772 series in the Thursday Men’s League at Enterprise Lanes in Benton.

“They were mostly good hits,” Shirley said. “I used a Jacked Raw Hammer ball and average 225 in two leagues.”

Shirley started bowling at 8 at Pike Lanes in North Little Rock. A customer relations for Cingular Wireless, he has 14 800 series with 852 high, eight 299 games, one 298 and nine 11-strikes-in-a-row awards, including two 297s and a 295.

CURRY ADDS FOUR

Misti Curry, 28, of Benton has had a good run of late, racking up four 700 series at Enterprise Lanes to bring her700 total to 120.

She started her run with games of 253, 235 and 227 for 715 in Benton’s Finest Ladies, hit 269, 212 and 227 for 708 and 227, 199 and 279 for 705 in the Thursday Men’s, and rolled 237, 279 and 224 for 740 back in Benton’s Finest Ladies.

An office clerk at Everett Buick/Pontiac/GMC, she started bowling at 7 at Professor Bowl South. She has three800 series with 836 high, one 298 game and three 11-strikesin-a-row awards, including a 297.

YOUTH BOWLERS

Greg Dragoo, 18, of Cabot, the porter at Allfam Lanes in Cabot, shot games of 256, 289 and 237 for a career-high 782 series. He started bowling at Allfam and averages 221.

At Enterprise, Marcus Wilson posted games of 226, 266 and 299 for a career-high 791, Nathan Childers games of 251, 287 and 258 for a career-high 796 and 255, 259 and 206 for 720 and Chris Seligman 201, 269 and 237 for 707.

Rachel Perez of Maumelle teamed with Charles Johnaon, Vic Benedict and Danny Inocencio to finish in fifth place in the SASBA Match Play Foursome at Plano Bowl in Plano, Texas. They shard $1,600.

Linda Reynolds with 264-577 in the Avengers at Conway Bowl picked up the Arkansas State Women’s Bowling Association 250 award, and Jennifer Wier with 225-658 the 650award in the Ten Pin Mixed at Allfam Bowl.
