The environmental impact studies that would be required for any other project were completed. But with the financial backing of those who DON'T want Bass Pro and the competition from it found the useful idiots (and apparently a judge that fits that category) to block this project.
I'm not a huge fan of tax incentives and other payoffs promised by the city of North Little Rock to "win" this project. But the area where this was suppose to go in needed SOMETHING done. This was a great opportunity that has basically been blown.
With the surplus of retail space available now, I just don't see BassPro coming in the near future, maybe never.
Personally - I would rather Cabelas anyway...
