Take your pick: State fair, blues fest or Robin Williams

— The Arkansas State Fair runs from Thursday through Oct. 18 at Little Rock’s Arkansas State Fair Grounds, and a sneak preview of the annual fun can be found in Thursday’s Arkansas Weekend section. As Jennifer Christman reports, the fair’s food novelties include Battered and Fried Bacon, Walking Taco in a Bag, Burger on a Hot Dog Bun and Chicken Parmesan on a Stick.

Meanwhile The Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival — formerly known as the King Biscuit Blues Festival — takes over downtown Helena-West Helena from Thursday through Saturday Starting at noon each day, a full schedule of musicians including Lucious Spiller, Michael Burks, Kings of the Delta and J.P. Soars & The Red Hots will perform on two separate stages.

For a dose of comedy, Robin Williams performs Friday evening at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.
