— A vacant two-story building has collapsed in Monticello, but no injuries have been reported.

Drew County Emergency Management Director Bill Horn said Tuesday that a gas leak occurred after the collapse and people in a one-block area were evacuated. Emergency responders were in the process of cutting off gas to the site as he spoke shortly before 1 p.m.

Horn says the building, which used to be a store, was near Main and Gabbert Streets.

Heavy rain has been falling on the area.
