Authorities say a Blytheville High School student was arrested after allegedly bringing a loaded gun to school.
Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson says that the 17-year-old student displayed the gun during an altercation between students that took place Wednesday off campus before the school day began.
Authorities say the student did not threaten anyone with the weapon on campus.
Police say the student was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm on a school campus, terroristic threatening, residential burglary and theft of property. Police say the student is accused of burglary and theft because officers found several stolen guns at the student’s home.
According to school policy, the student will be expelled for one year.
