Coach: Ryan Koerdt, 11-43 in two years at

Sheridan and 132-63 in seven years overall

Assistant coaches: David Clinton and Joe

Scott

Last year’s record: 10-18, 3-11 in conference

(sixth place)

Returning starters: Seniors Sawyer Duni

gan (6-3 guard/forward), who averaged

nine points per game, and Jacob Brown

(6-3 guard/forward), who averaged seven

points per game.

Best inside players: Seniors Kyle Spann

(6-5 center), Colin Simpson (6-3 guard/

forward) and Jacob Brown (6-3 guard/for

(6-3 guard) and Neco Alonzo (5-11 guard),

(5-10 guard).

How will you match/exceed/fall short of

your success from last year? “Last year, we

were so close in so many games (lost nine

games by eight points or less). This year we

have more experience, and a team that de

sires to win a lot of games,” Koerdt said.

Strengths of team: Strength, size, shooting

and experience.

Weaknesses of team: Questions at point

guard.

Toughest opponent: “Watson Chapel. Four

college players on a stacked team,” Koerdt

said.

College prospects: “Comic [has a] 37-inch

vertical leap, tremendous range on his shot

and [is] a very good slasher. Spann [is a]

big body inside and [has a] high basket

ball IQ. Brown plays with a motor. No one

will out-hustle him. Dunigan [is a] good

shooter that can score points in bunches.

Simpson [is a] very versatile player that can

play inside and out,” Koerdt said.

In a nutshell: “We are very strong and very

aggressive. The kids will not back down

from anyone, and they want to establish a

tradition of basketball at Sheridan,” Koerdt

said. “Winning 10 games last year was more

than the previous five years combined, and

this team wants to exceed that number.”GIRLS Conference: 6A South Coach: Rick Treadway, 22nd year, 469-208 overall Assistant coach: Tony Bone Last year’s record: 20-8, third in conference Returning starters: 5-5 point guard Mycah Love, who averaged three ppg, and 5-6 guard Lauren Sweaton, who averaged 12 ppg and was all-conference.
