— Authorities in Saline County say a Benton teenager has been killed in an all terrain vehicle accident.

Saline County Sheriff's Corporal Michael Watson says 15-year-old Daniel Magnusson was driving a four-wheeler Monday afternoon with two other people when he lost control and was ejected from the ATV.

A sheriff's report says that Magnusson was found in a ditch with a metal fence post impaled in his right side.

The two other passengers were not injured.

Police say Magnusson was pronounced dead at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Sadly this happens every year and not just in Arkansas. I have no prob. with passing a law to stop anyone under 18 from riding a 4 wheeler. And 4 wheelers also have a warning on them that they are designed for 1 rider. Any parent under that new law that allows their child to ride 1 should be fined. Alot. If you love your kids keep them off these dangerous vehicles.

Sorry but i disagree with Quiet4us2.. The atv is not anymore dangerous than a car.. it is the person that rides it that is dangerous. Before anybody rides one they should have to take a lengthy course on safety. The parents need to WATCH their children. An atv can be alot of fun and safe when riding it correctly. When my girls ride their atv, i am there with them making sure THEY do not act silly with it.

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - A two year old girl dies after an accident involving an ATV in Randolph County, according to Sheriff Gary Tribble.

Sheriff Tribble says the call came in just after noon, with dispatch being told of a small female child hurt in a four-wheeler accident near Lloyd Williams Road. The caller reported that the child, which was apparently riding on the ATV with another person, had ran through a barbed wire fence.

Sheriff Tribble says the small child was transported to the Five Rivers Medical Center where she then died from her injuries. "The Randolph County Sheriff's Department expresses its deepest condolences to the family," added Tribble.

Tribble tells Region 8 News that his office is not finished working on this incident but he does not expect to file charges.

This is a tragic accident!
I know the two boys who were riding with Daniel and I know their parents very well; they are good and responsible people. Daniel was riding alone when the accident occurred, he was wearing a helmet and safety goggles. I've ridden 4 wheelers many times with the two boys who were with Daniel; they are good kids who are well trained on how to ride a 4 wheeler safely. Unfortunately accidents do happen. All involve are very heartbroken and are in much pain. Please pray for these two families.
