Many items lost in Albert Pike flood are recovered

— The U.S. Forest Service says more than 3,000 items lost during a deadly flood in southwestern Arkansas have been recovered and can be claimed by owners.

The items include clothing and camping gear found along an 11-mile stretch of the Little Missouri River. They were washed away from the Albert Pike Recreational Area near Langley on June 11 by a flash flood that killed 20 people.

The items will be at the Pike County Fairground Crawford building in Glenwood and available to family members through Saturday. Forest Service staff will also be at the fairgrounds Aug. 26-28 and Sept. 3, 4, 10 and 11.
