Man arrested after Jacksonville traffic stop turns up drugs, police say

A traffic stop in Jacksonville led officers to a stash of marijuana at a man's home Wednesday, authorities said.

Jacksonville authorities pulled over a white pickup to serve a warrant on the driver, Shon Benford. According to a police report, a blunt and stash of marijuana was found during a search of the truck.

Officers then received a search warrant for Benford's home on Wooten Road, where they found more than two pounds of marijuana, a pistol and two loaded magazines, and surveillance cameras, as well as drug paraphernalia items.

Benford is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug premises, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
