Little Rock authorities say air conditioner units and parts were stolen from two area schools this week.

An employee with the Little Rock School District contacted police about the theft at Horace Mann Junior High at 1000 East Roosevelt Street. Sometime between 11 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday morning, the wires and pipes were cut from a 3-ton air unit, and the coils from the unit were removed, according to a police report.

As police were investigating the first A/C theft, a second unit was reported stolen up the street at Booker Arts Magnet School at 2016 Barber Street.

Theft of air conditioner parts for the copper has become quite common in recent years.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Doesn't anyone in that part of town know how to shoot? Call the police department, they have a couple of law enFORCEment officers that know how to engage people in their homes and they wouldn't have to go upstairs on this job.
