MEMPHIS — A wily coyote that eluded capture for months in midtown Memphis has met its match — Charles Harris.
The owner of Apex Wildlife Control spent more than an hour cornering the coyote in a backyard earlier this week and then slipping a lasso over its neck. Harris said he later released the animal at a wildlife refuge, reports The Commercial Appeal.
The coyote had fed on neighborhood pets and food that pet owners left outside for them.
One of its victims was a pet known as Mean Kitty.
Midtown resident Julie Denman is happy the coyote has been relocated. Denman says her 8-pound dog could have become a tasty treat for the predator.
