Entergy Arkansas down to 1,400 power failures

Snow blankets State, Closing Schools
Kids took advantage of a day out of school by making snowman and having snowball fights.
Entergy Arkansas says about 1,400 customers, mainly in the Little Rock and Hot Springs, areas remain without electricity.
Entergy spokesman James Thompson said Tuesday about 800 of the outages are in Little Rock and 200 in Hot Springs. All of the outages are scattered about and Thompson says line crews are going house to house to make repairs. Thompson says everyone should have power by Tuesday evening.
Few of the outages were caused by broken poles, though some did topple after being hit by vehicles. Most lost power because of falling tree limbs or trees that fell over. The duration of the winter storm left many trees weighted down with water, ice and snow.
Thompson says that with the ground so saturated because of the wet weather, there may be some sporadic outages in the next day or two because of toppling trees.

I have such admiration for the brave and strong men who work so hard in cold and dangerous conditions to keep the rest of us warm and safe.
