Rep. David Cook says he’s running for the east Arkansas congressional seat being vacated by Democratic Congressman Marion Berry.
Cook is a Democrat from Williford. He announced Wednesday that he’s seeking the Democratic nomination for the 1st District seat. Berry announced last month he would not seek re-election at the end of his term this year.
Cook is the third Democrat to announce a bid for Berry’s seat. Former state Sen. Tim Wooldridge and former Berry chief of staff Chad Causey have also said they’re running for the Democratic nomination.
Rick Crawford is the only announced Republican candidate.
