Vigil planned for injured firefighter

A candlelight vigil was planned for Monday night for the Pine Bluff firefighter injured in a fire.

The Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial will hold the vigil for Lt. David Curlin outside the Maumelle Fire Department starting at 8:30 p.m.

Curlin was in critical condition at UAMS Medical Center on Sunday after being injured when the wall of a burning office furniture story collapsed on him.

Curlin was inside Clements Office Center at 604 S. Main St. when the front wall collapsed on him just after 6 a.m. Sunday, said Lt. Shauwn Howell, a spokesman for the Pine Bluff Fire Department.
