A hard freeze warning across the state has been issued until noon Sunday.

Low temperatures tonight will mostly be in the single digits and teens and may drop near zero toward the Missouri border, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will remain below freezing in most areas Sunday morning.

People will be more susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia if not dressed appropriately. Water pipes will be more likely to break if left unprotected.

A hard freeze warning is issued when extreme cold is expected or cold weather will be prolonged. People should prepare for well below freezing temperatures and take necessary precautions to stay warm and protect water pipes.
