Lincoln raises $1.3 million in fourth quarter

LITTLE ROCK — U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln this morning announced that her campaign raised more than $1.3 million in contributions during the fourth quarter of 2009.
Lincoln will also report $5,021,279 cash on hand at the close of the quarter, which ran from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31.
"This will be a tough campaign, and I am grateful for the support of so many Arkansans," Lincoln said in a statement. "After another strong quarter of fund raising, along with the opening of our campaign headquarters and an expanding team of staff members and volunteers, the new year has launched with a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm."
The fourth-quarter donations, which total $1,310,508, came from 1,025 individual donors, the campaign said in a news release.
The campaign reportedly raised $5,551,076 in 2009, an average of more than $1.3 million per quarter, and $7,006,965 since Jan. 1, 2005.
U.S. Senate campaigns are required to submit 2009 financial reports to the Secretary of State by the end of this month.

SAD, SAD. The career politicians just want to have more power & more $$. Like she needs more millions?? If donors gave to a charity instead (or a friend in need), think of the difference it would make in the world. These politicians leave office and get to keep much of this money, PLUS a lifetime retirement fund & health care.

Of the 1025 individual donors I really wonder how many were from inside Arkansas. Careful wording doesn't let the reader know where this money is coming from. I'm sure Lincoln wants us all to believe it is coming from the overwhelming support in her home state but I would guess the documentation to show something different.
Her arrogance and elitism has run its course with me and many other voters.
