— Arkansas lineman faces DWI charge

Arkansas offensive lineman Anthony Oden was arrested early Sunday in Fayetteville and charged with driving while intoxicated and other offenses.

Oden, 20, was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 6:39 a.m. and charged with DWI, driving without a license and careless driving. He posted $1,055 bail and was released at 2:32 p.m. He is due Aug. 9 in Fayetteville District Court on the charge.

Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino is aware of the incident and said he is disappointed and is handling the matter, associate media relations director Zack Higbee said.

Oden was spotted bumping into the curb on westbound Maple Street and again on North Garland before he was pulled over, according to a UA police department preliminary report.

Oden, the younger brother of Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested at 2:34 a.m., then tested at a 0.12 blood alcohol level on a breath sample at 4:06 a.m., according to the report. The legal limit for blood alcohol content in Arkansas is 0.08.

Oden, 6-8, 334 pounds, made one start last season at Alabama and played in six other games.

He is the second Razorback arrested in the past month and charged with an alcohol-related driving offense. Fullback Van Stumon was charged with DWI and other offenses June 12 and is due in court July 16.
