LITTLE ROCK — A 15-year-old Conway resident was killed when the car he was riding in veered off Interstate 40 Thursday and rolled several times, police said.
Jose Anell was one of five people in the westbound Mercury Marquis when 19-year-old driver Hugo Camilo "jerked the steering wheel" to try and take the Dave Ward Drive exit in Conway and lost control of the vehicle, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police accident report.
Anell died from trauma sustained in the wreck while Camilo and 15-year-old passenger Daniel Barraganez were hospitalized with unspecified injuries. Two other passengers were not hurt.
The accident happened about 5:20 p.m.
