Fishing this week

— HOT SPOTS1. LAKE MAUMELLE Black bass are biting well on floating worms, jerkbaits and spinnerbaits fished in 4-12 feet of water. Crappie are hitting 1/32 ounce jigs, minnows and shad-colored grubs fished in 15-20feet of water. Bream are excellent on crickets and redworms fished 15-20 feet deep.

Catfishing is excellent on trotlines baited with cut shad and bream.

2. ARKANSAS RIVER (MORRILTON) Catfishing has been very good using shad

25-35 feet deep. Bream are biting excellent on

crickets fished around wood. Bass are biting on chatter bait and horny toads in pearl. Crappie are slow but some are being caught fishing minnowsaround wood in 10-15 feet of water.

3. DEGRAY LAKE Crappie fishing is fair with most being caught near fish attractors or other forms of cover.

Fishing a 1/16 ounce Tennessee Shad or Arkansas Shad

2-inch grubs has been working well. Hybrids are in their late summer pattern and are biting well. Early morning will give you the best bite. Bream are fair and most are being caught around 20 feet deep. Catfishing has been good at night in the BrushyCreek area on trotlines placed 50-70 feet deep.

4. LAKE OUACHITA Largemouths are biting well on Texas rigged worms, football jigs and creature baits. Walleye are biting excellent on spoons. Stripers are hitting live bait and rigging hair jigs. Bream are

biting excellent on crickets or worms fished 10-25 feet deep. Crappie are

fair but can be caught near brush in 20-30 feet of water. Catfishing is good with jugs and trotlines baited with cut bait and live bait.

5. BEAVER LAKE Bream are biting well on crickets. Crappie are being caught on minnows or by trolling crankbaits. Fishing around deep brush piles has produced crappie. Bass are biting on top-water lures early and late.

During the day, deep drop shots and crankbaits have been catching fish.

Spinnerbaits and plastics have produced bass at night. Catfishing is good with prepared bait and shad.
