The Little Rock School Board decided tonight whether to keep on Superintendent Linda Watson or begin searching for a new chief.
The members voted 4-3 against a one-year extension. This will be Watson's third and final year.
Watson has been superintendent of the 26,700-student district since August 2007. She began on an interim basis after Roy Brooks was removed, and she was hired on a long-term basis in March 2008.
