RUDY ALAN ABENIDO, age 50, of Jacksonville, Ark., passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at his home. He was born Nov. 9, 1959, at Castle Air Force Base in California to the late Rudolph Abenido and Eva Bailey Abenido. He was retired from the United States Air Force and a retired civil servant. Rudy was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, motorcyclist, Razorback fan, and an ordained minister.

He is survived by his wife, Karin Corrigan Abenido; children, Rudy Abenido Jr. of Jacksonville, Shay Abenido of Coosada, Ala., and Roxy Gavitt and husband Scott of Montgomery, Ala.; his mother, Eva Abenido; sisters, Rhonda Perkins and Renee’ Marr and husband Rick, all of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be loved and missed by many more family and friends.

• –––––CARL CAPLAN, 77, of Little Rock passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010. He was born in Baltimore, Md., to Joseph and Esther (Gold) Caplan. Carl served as an Airman First Class in the Korean War era in Canada. While he was there, he met the love of his life, Harriet. They were married for over 40 years before her passing in 1996. Carl was a member of the Congregation B’Nai Isreal in Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet; his parents, Joseph and Esther Caplan; and a sister, Rachel Caplan. He is survived by his daughter, Betsy Thompson of Springfield, Mo.; his sons, Joseph Caplan and Sam (Jessica) Caplan, both of Little Rock; his granddaughter, Sarah Beth Corley; and grandson, Elijah Samuel Caplan; his great-grandchild, Christopher Corley; and a host of extended family and friends.

Victor is survived by his mother, Gussie Williams; three sons, Victor Davis Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Frankie and Nathan of North Little Rock; three daughters, Shree (Stephen) of Mesquite, Texas, Chunda and Stovia of North Little Rock; 10 siblings: five brothers, Arthur Jr. of Shreveport, Anthony of Pine Bluff, Dan Tony of Lakeview, Cleveland Jr. of North Little Rock, Ark., and Willie Sr. of Jacksonville, Ark., five sisters, Linda of Little Rock, Ark., Lanette of Dallas, Texas, Luevenia (Odell III) of Lakeview, Ella of Memphis, Tenn., and Brenita (Carl) of Pine Bluff, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, aunts and uncles.

• –––––WILLIAM “BILL” FRANK WAGNER, 90, of North Little Rock, Ark., went to be with his Lord July 21st, 2010. Mr. Wagner was born Feb. 4th, 1920, to Lawrence Avon Wagner and Sadie Dantzler Wagner of High Point, N.C. Brother to Lawrence, Harry, Margie, Lib and Marie. Bill was the loving husband of the late Betty Welch Wagner for 62 years. They traveled extensively together and were accomplished dancers.

Mr. Wagner was a loving father to sons, Chip (the late Coleen) Wagner, Stephen (Mary) Wagner, and daughters, Penny (Ed) Wagner Hagerstrom and Lee (Richard) Wagner Bell; a loving grandfather to Tommy, Heather, Stephen, Wesley, Clayton and Jennifer and two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Topanga.

Mr. Wagner was the president of Arkansas Face Veneer for 11 years. He was a WWII veteran in the Army Air Corps and flew 44 missions in the South Pacific. He was a B-24 and Glider pilot. He was a pilot in private life as well as an avid golfer and world traveler, he enjoyed horse racing at Oaklawn and was a charter member of the North Hills Country & Golf Club and friend to all members. Mr. Wagner will be remembered as a beloved husband, father and grandfather. His pleasant personality and kind manner never wavered. He was the Episcopal faith and will be sadly missed by all who knew him — all our love was returned.

ARKADELPHIA — Harold Floyd Wrinkle, age 75, of Arkadelphia died Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Little Rock. He was born June 26, 1935 in Arkadelphia, Ark., the son of the late Arthur and Mary Estella Carter Wrinkle. Harold retired from Levi Straus Co. and worked at Bowen’s Restaurant in Arkadelphia after retirement. He was a Christian and wonderful stepdad for 36 years.

His wife, Sybil Henderson Wrinkle; one step-grandson, Jeff Ruchalski; and one brother, Robert Wrinkle preceded him in death. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Brenda Hardin and husband, Don, of Sheridan, Ark.; Judy Ruchalski and husband, Mike of Delight, Ark.; two stepsons, Thomas Buck and wife Cheryl of Delight, Ark.; James Buck of Royse City, Texas; one brother, James (Pete) Wrinkle of Gurdon, Ark.; two sisters, Helen Callaway and Nonnie Caldwell; and one sister-in-law, Bitsy Wrinkle all of Arkadelphia, Ark.; six step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Williams officiating. Burial will be in the in Delight Cemetery. • –––––BENTON — Joseph Thomas Christopher Lewis, beloved husband, Father and Pop-Pop, age 68, of Benton passed from this life on July 21, 2010. Mr. Lewis was born on December 17, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents Thomas and Gloria Lewis and was raised by his aunt Grace Gumienny and cousin Anne Weed in upstate New York. Joe was a veteran of the Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He loved baseball, slot machines and watching his daughter do Tae Kwon Do. He had an exciting life filled with love, laughter and family. His grandson, Caden will always remember his Pop-Pop Joe as his best friend and Mojo and will always be loved by his friends and family both in New Jersey and Arkansas.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jacalyn Lewis; daughter Tiffany Lewis and grandson, Caden Mulford. He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Lewis, Jr. who died while serving his country.

Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors. • –––––BRINKLEY — Anne McShane Luckinbill Sharp, age 84, passed away on July 21, 2010. A daughter of J. Max and Madeleine Luckinbill she was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on March 30, 1926. Anne was a fourth-generation graduate of St. Anne’s Academy in Fort Smith, attended Nazareth Academy in Nazareth, Ky., and Webster College in St. Louis, Mo., graduating from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Ark., where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

She is survived by two sons, W. Wilson Sharp and wife Lee of Albuquerque, N.M. and Baxter Sharp III of Brinkley, Ark.; one daughter, Madeleine Gretchen Sharp-Smith of BelAir, Md.; two grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Sharp; parents, J. Max and Madeleine McShane Luckinbill; and siblings, Patrick Luckinbill and Max Luckinbill.

• –––––CABOT — Jane Kermeen Knight, 84, of Cabot died Thursday, July 22, 2010. She was born August 26, 1925 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late John Leroy and Seppie Boydston Kermeen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James G. Knight III. She was a member of Sylvania Presbyterian Church, and a member of Daughters of American Revolution. Mrs. Knight was a former reservationist for America Airlines, and Northwest Airlines. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. She is survived by her sons, Barry D. Knight and Andrew B. • –––––TEXARKANA — Forney G. Holt, M.D., 97, Texarkana, Arkansas, (formerly of Hope, Arkansas), passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at a Texarkana hospital. He was born June 26, 1913, in Bingen, Arkansas, to Earl and Maggie Goodwin Holt. He was a Army Veteran having served both World War II and Korea. He was a former Principal and High School Math Teacher at Hope Public School’s. He was a former member of Hope School Board; the Missions Board, Little Rock, Arkansas, and member of First Baptist Church, Hope, Arkansas. He received his master’s in chemistry; and his Medical Degree from the University of Arkansas Medical Science, Little Rock, Arkansas. He was former owner/operator of Hope Clinic in Hope, Arkansas. He taught medicine at University of Arkansas Medical Science Little Rock, Arkansas, and the former Southern Clinic in Texarkana, Arkansas, before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathleen Downs Holt, in 2001; two brothers, Edwin Holt and Oscar Holt; one sister, Mary Gilbert; one nephew, Robert Edward Hamilton. Survivors include: his wife: Helen K. Rateliff Holt, Texarkana, Arkansas; four sons: Tommy Holt, Atlanta, Georgia; Charles Rateliff and Brenda, Bentonville, Arkansas; Ronnie Rateliff, Bella Vista, Arkansas; Danny Rateliff and Rachelle Texarkana, Texas; one daughter: Sharon Hicks, Texarkana, Texas; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

• –––––WEST MEMPHIS — Betty Harrison Ingram left this life peacefully on Thursday evening, July 22, 2010, in her West Memphis, Ark., home. She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Keith M. Ingram, and by her three married children and seven grandchildren. They are: John Harrison Jones (Palmer), their children, Sarah, 17 and Mia, 8, Memphis, Tenn.; Julie Jones Smythe (Ham IV), and their children, Louise, 22; Mary Claire, 20; and William, 17, Memphis, Tenn. Also, Lt. Colonel David Jones (Cindy), and their children Wesley, 17, and Bailey, 13, of Germantown, Tenn.

Betty’s parents, Leonard and Mary Harrison, lived in Lepanto where she was raised and schooled. She was a dedicated spouse, mother, grandmother and friend. Betty’s kindness, gentle spirit, humility and grace earned her the respect of those close to her.

Visitation will be in Deneke Hall, First United Methodist Church in West Memphis, Ark. at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 25.
