Bluegrass concert set Thursday at library

— The Faulkner County Librar y will host Faril Simpson and the Lollie Bottom Boys in a bluegrass concert, “New Songs and Old Tales,” at 7 p.m. Thursday. The public is invited, and there is no charge to attend.

Simpson is primarily known as a member of The Professors bluegrass band and Okry, a band that was started with students from the University of Central Arkansas.

Other bands that he has been associated with include The 3-S company, The Conway Fiddle Band and Just One More.

He has written approximately 100 songs, some of which will be performed at the library.

Simpson made two albums with The Professors, two with Okry, six on his own and numerous compact discs. Some of these recordings will beoffered for sale, and all proceeds from the sales will benefit Bethlehem House.

Simpson, who plays guitar, will be joined by the Lollie Bottom Boys - Ray Stell, guitar; Sam McKaskle, mandolin; Ricky Russell, fiddle;

and Bill Whitenack, bass.
