Cabot resident joins national auxiliary committee

— The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries Inc. announces the appointment of Karen Ackerman Knight as a member of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries Education Committee for 2010-2011. She is a life member of the Junior Auxiliary of Cabot, where she has served as chapter president and chairwoman of numerous Auxiliary projects.

Knight initiated a drug education program at Cabot HighSchool in 2006. Knight also wrote and won a national award for “The War at Home, Fighting CrystalMethamphetamine.” She was twice named Member of the Year during her years at the local level of the Junior Auxiliary of Cabot. This is Knight’s sixth year with the Auxiliary.

As a volunteer in her community, Knight has worked with CASA of Lonoke County, Lonoke County Safehaven for battered women, The C.A.L.L. Fostering Program and the Cabot Chamber of Commerce.

Knight received her education at Little Rock Baptist Medical Center’s Nursing Program. She and her husband, Kent, havefive children: Clint Diffie, Alex Diffie, Jennifer Mathis, Kristopher Knight and Win Knight.
