Two to recount Katrina survival

— Abdulrahman and Kathy Zeitoun, whose story is told in the best-selling book Zeitoun by Dave Eggers, will discuss on Wednesday their family’s experience during Hurricane Katrina.

While Kathy Zeitoun and the family’s four children left New Orleans before the 2005 storm that devastated the city, Abdulrahman Zeitoun stayed behind to protect their home and business. In the days after, he traveled the flooded city in a canoe, helping out friends andneighbors.

The noon to 1 p.m. lecture will be hosted by the Clinton School of Public Service and the William J. Clinton Foundation as part of a continuing series on natural disasters in conjunction with the Clinton Center exhibit “Nature Unleashed.”

Those attending the Sturgis Hall lecture are invited to take their own lunches, but drinks are provided.

Seats can be reserved by e-mailing publicprograms@ clintonschool.uasys.edu or by calling (501) 683-5239.
