Dedication today for bridge 9 years in the making

Span links Arkansas, Mississippi

— The new $336 million U.S. Highway 82 bridge over the Mississippi River at southeast Arkansas is being dedicated today.

The span isn’t to be open to traffic until later in the week.

Arkansas and Mississippi split the cost, though Mississippi oversaw construction. The bridge took about nine years to construct.

The bridge connects Lake Village, Arkansas, and Greenville, Mississippi.
