Pine Bluff killings unsolved, police ask for help

— Police in Pine Bluff want anyone with information to help them solve two killings that occurred within hours of each other in 2005.

Investigators say 65-year-old Lela Wade was found dead on her living room floor the night of Nov. 19, 2005. Wade had been shot in the head.

About six hours later at 2 a.m. Nov. 20, police and firefighters found the body of 79-year-old Bernice Thompson inside a burning home. Investigators say the fire was an arson and was set to try to destroy evidence of the killing.

Police say they have investigated all their leads and now are asking anyone with knowledge of either crime to contact authorities.
