Prosecutors say a man and a woman from Texarkana face up to life in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping.
Prosecutors say 29-year-old Joshua Joe Oden and 43-year-old Patricia Mae Hendrix also face robbery, theft and battery charges in connection with the October 2009 kidnapping of Richard Leon Ward.
Authorities say the pair convinced Ward to give them a ride in his truck, then Oden struck Ward several times in the face.
Prosecutors say the pair tied Ward up with rope, then drove him to a motel in Louisiana. Prosecutors say the pair later dropped him off near his home after a friend of Ward’s told them that police knew they’d taken Ward to Louisiana and that they were tracking them.
They will be sentenced at a later date and face up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine on the kidnapping charge.
