TEXAS LEAGUE: Chatman solid in seven as Travs dump Drillers

— Tyler Chatman was tough on Tulsa again.

Chatman allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and the Arkansas Travelers put together 13 hits for a 9-2 victory over the Drillers on Monday before 4,527 at One Ok Field. With the victory, the Travs salvaged a series split.

The last time Chatman faced Tulsa on July 16, the right-hander threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout.

This time, Chatman (2-4) gave up 7 hits, striking out 3 and walking 1.

The Travelers got home runs from Nick Gorneault, Jeremy Moore and Andrew Romine. Gorneault, Moore, Romine, Tyson Auer and Alexi Amarista each had two hits.

Arkansas broke open a 1-1 game in the fourth with three runs. Gorneault had a two-run home run to right, and Ryan Mount tripled and scored on an error for a 4-1 lead.

The Travs added two runs in the fifth on Moore’s two-run home run to center, another in the sixth on Jose Jimenez’s RBI double and a run in the eighth on Romine’s two-run home run to right.

Tulsa’s only runs came in the second on Matt Repec’s RBI single and in the sixth on Lars Davis’ RBI single.

Greg Reynolds (4-4) allowed 7 runs on 10 hits in 6 innings and took the loss.
