2 arrested in Ward drug bust

Authorities arrested two men after an investigation in Ward turned up chemicals and paraphernalia used to manufacture methamphetamine, officials said.

Lt. James Kulesa and investigator Allen Marshall were looking into drug activity at a residence on Pigeon Road on Tuesday. According to a report from the sheriff's office, they seized chemicals, components, and paraphernalia utilized to make the drug, as well as a small amount of methamphetamine.

They also found Clayton Wade Ainsworth, 37, of Ward behind a chair in the home's garage, and Jessy Collins, 19, of Ward hiding in a closet in the garage.

Both men were charged with possession of paraphernalia to manufacture, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ainsworth had been arrested earlier this month at the same residence on a charge of possession of paraphernalia to manufacture.

They were transported to the Lonoke County jail.
