LR police chase ends with crash, 1 arrest

— A Little Rock man was arrested Wednesday morning after he led officers on a car chase through several neighborhoods before colliding with a sport utility vehicle driven by a 16-year-old girl, according to an arrest report.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m ., police were called to the old Job Corps building at East 17th and Bragg streets where they found Albert Curtis Williams, 32, removing copper pipes and an air-conditioning unit from the building, the report said.

When he saw the officers, Williams fled in his 1993 Chevrolet Caprice, leading them ona chase that ended in east Little Rock where Williams failed to stop at East Sixth and Kimball streets, the report said. His car struck a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Ashton Hodges, the report said.

The girl suffered minor injuries, and the SUV was a total loss, the report said.

Williams of 924 CalhounSt. was charged with two counts of theft of property, breaking and entering, criminal mischief, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, reckless driving and fleeing, the report said.

Williams was released Wednesday evening from the Pulaski County jail on $11,900 bond, jail records show.
