Democrat Bryant wins land commissioner nomination

A 23-year-old businessman has won the Democratic nomination for state land commissioner.

According to incomplete and unofficial results, L.J. Bryant won the nomination in Tuesday’s runoff election against state Rep. Monty Davenport.

Bryant, who lives in Newport, will face Republican John Thurston of Bigelow.
