Womack wins GOP bid for 3rd District seat

Rogers Mayor Steve Womack defeated state Sen. Cecile Bledsoe in Tuesday's 3rd District Republican runoff.

The two were neck and neck for most of the night, but Womack pulled ahead 52 percent to 48 percent with 61 of the 75 counties reporting.

Womack faces Democrat David Whitaker in November for the seat being vacated by Rep. John Boozman, who’s running for Senate.
