Driver injured when car overturns in water

— A Little Rock man was treated and released Monday for injuries sustained when his car veered off Highway 10 near Jolly Roger's Marina and overturned in the water.

It happened about 9:45 a.m. just east of the marina entrance.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said in an e-mail that 27-year-old Adam Morrison was westbound on the highway when the vehicle swerved off the roadway, crashed through some underbrush and then overturned in the water.

Morrison freed himself on his own and was then transported to St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Police later ticketed Morrison for operating with a suspended driver's license and careless and prohibited driving, Sadler said.
