— The Saline County sheriff’s office Wednesday announced a second drug seizure related to an investigation that netted more than 600 pounds of ‘pot’ in North Little Rock earlier this week.

Deputies raided a Mabelvale home Monday and seized 73 pounds of marijuana, three handguns and nearly $14,000 in cash. This followed a Monday bust in North Little Rock that was part of the same investigation.

“This is the second-largest bust on weed since I’ve been here, and I’ve been here since ’89,” said Lt. Mike Frost, head of investigations.

Richlond Reed, 29; Kevin Cotton, 23; and Justin Shelton, 24, were arrested at the home, which is in a subdivision off Chicot Road. They were booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute, maintaining a drug premise and two weapons charges. All three have posted bond.

Sheriff Bruce Pennington said the investigation involving multiple agencies is ongoing.
