Storms cause damage in Garland County

Garland County officials say several homes were damaged and large trees and power poles were toppled when severe thunderstorms moved through the state.

Emergency Management Director Bob King said Thursday no one was injured when straight-line winds knocked over large trees, some of them onto houses and outbuildings in Mountain Pine and near Lake Hamilton. King says six to eight structures were damaged.

He says he also had reports that power lines were down in Hot Springs.

Some tree damage also was reported near Steprock in White County.
