Can we round it down?

— North Korea has announced that the United States owes it more than $65 trillion for various offenses. That running tab includes the costs of the Korean War 60 years ago, damage done to the North Korean economy by sanctions, and probably for the harm done when Kim Jong Il cuts himself shaving.

The strange thing about this story-well, one of the strange things-is that the total bill comes to $64.96 trillion. Not $64.97 trillion or $64.95 trillion, but $64.96 trillion. As if somebody has put some thought into this.

Tell you what, Comrade Kim: How about you just subtract the $64.96 trillion from the . . . let’s see . . . carry the two . . . move the decimal point . . . from the $987.49 umpteenzillion you owe the rest of the world for having to arm against an attack from your crazy regime. We’ll await your check.
