LEGAL AFFAIRS Civil rights leader addresses annual law society meeting

— Members of the W. Harold Flowers Law Society dined June 19 with retired Circuit Judge D’Army Bailey of Memphis, a leader in the civil rights movement.

The luncheon, at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, was part of the society’s annual meeting. Bailey founded the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. He is also the author of Mine Eyes Have Seen: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Final Journey.

W. Harold Flowers Award recipients are retired U.S. Magistrate Henry L. Jones and Carlton Jones of Texarkana, the incoming prosecuting attorney for the 8th Judicial District-South. Henry Jones was unable to attendthe event. Circuit Judge Marion Humphrey, president of the society, presidedover the event.
