WEDDINGS: AMBER ELIZABETH BENNETT MARTIN CAIN BYNUM

— Amber Elizabeth Bennett became the bride of Martin Cain Bynum at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 19, in Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. The Rev. Vic Nixon officiated.

The bride is the daughter of La-Quita and John William Bennett of Carlisle. She is the granddaughter of Lola Mae and the late Clifford Bennett and Joy and the late William Mason Jr., all of Carlisle.

Parents of the bridegroom are Harriet and Frank Wilson Bynum Jr. of Pine Bluff. His grandparents are Frank and the late Margaret Bynum of Lake Village and the late Constance and Jerry Lomax Eason of Clarendon.

Monogrammed wreaths of hot pink dianthus decorated the church doors. The chancel held a curly willow cross decorated with roses, snapdragons and orchids. Music was by organist James Maase; a string quartet with Sandy McDonald, Leanne Day, Phebe Duff and Daniel Cline; and vocalists Jamie Anderson, Paula Montgomery Swindle and Sara Harris.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory Chantilly lace over light-gold satin embellished with bugle beads, seed pearls and Swarovski crystals. The halterstyle bodice had a V-neckline and the skirt extended to a chapel-length train. She wore her mother’s wedding veil of illusion and Venice lace. She carried a cascade of white phaleanopsis orchids embellished with a vintage jeweled brooch belonging to her maternal great-grandmother.

Matron of honor was Rebecca Gosnell of Rogers. Bridesmaids were Paula Stephens of Fayetteville, Mollie Campbell of Memphis, Mickey Searcy of Little Rock, Lindsay Johnson of Niceville, Fla., and Catherine Bryant of Helena-West Helena.

They wore black chiffon oneshoulder gowns with shirred cummerbunds and carried bouquets of roses with vintage jewelry embellishments from the bride’s grandmothers.

Flower girls were Lillian Bennett of Carlisle and Mary Mason Bennett of Piperton, Tenn., nieces of the bride; and Liza Bynum of Little Rock, niece of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Wilson Bynum III of Little Rock,nephew of the bridegroom.

Best man was Daniels Bynum of Little Rock, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Fletcher Lord III, Kevin Brown and Jason LaFrance, all of Little Rock; Ken Jennings of Bentonville; Chris Feathersof Charlotte, N.C.; and Brad Thomas of White Hall.

Guests were seated by Mason Bennett of Piperton, Chad Bennett of Carlisle, Trip Fussell of Washington, Chris Rushton of Fayetteville, and Andy Rogers of Little Rock.

A reception at the Clinton Presidential Center followed the ceremony. The buffet held a three-piece arrangement of hot pink hydrangeas and French tulips, Ravel roses and curly willow. Guest tables alternated low and tall arrangements of wedding flowers. Music was by the DMP band.

The bride, an honor graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor’s degree incommunications, is a student at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences working toward a doctorate in pharmacy. She was a member of Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society, a member of the UA Homecoming Court and Miss Arkansas 2006, representing the state in the Miss America pageant.

The bridegroom has a bachelor’s in microbiology and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He is a broker at Stephens Inc. in institutional equity sales.

The couple will reside in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Lanai, Hawaii.
