Fayetteville lawyer

— The Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct suspended the law license of Ann Cecelia Donovan of Fayetteville for six months, the committee said Thursday.

It found that Donovan violated four rules of professional conduct after Marilyn Pearson hired Donovan in February 2007 to represent her in a matter involving a mortgage company. Donovan was able to stop the foreclosure sale that was scheduled and Pearson was grateful for that, but Donovan’s conduct after she initially stopped the sale concerned Pearson, the committee said.

Donovan violated a rule when she did not comply in a timely manner with a consent order brought by her for Pearson that required Donovan to submit to HomEq Servicing’s counsel the funds that Pearson had delivered to her, the committee said.
