FORT SMITH — Fort Smith police officers will be featured on a cable television series.
Mickey Stern, the co-CEO of Base Productions, says the Tru TV cable network saw early rough cuts of the show “POV PD” and has ordered more episodes. Stern says filming for the show is taking place in Fort Smith and Cincinnati.
Since last summer, Fort Smith officers have used small cameras attached to their caps to record their work while on patrol. Stern said Base Productions will probably film officers for the entire span of a one-year contract with the police department.
Fort Smith Police Chief Kevin Lindsey says the department has had no problem working with Base Production representatives.
