ON TV CONTEST

— Doesn’t it seem like TV characters have more fun? Cool jobs. Great-looking friends. And really hip places to hang out.

For the new On TV Contest, the judge asks: What is your favorite TV hangout? Why?

So, what’ll it be? A burger at Beverly Hills 90210’s The Peach Pit? Or some dancing and drinks at The Peach Pit After Dark?

This contest is intended to be about recreational spots, not schools or workplaces. Of course, the judge is aware that that line can be a bit blurry on some shows, so if you’re uncertain, feel free to ask.

Also, in order to be eligible, the location in question should have been featured multiple times on the series. A one-episode trip to Mr. Pubb’s on Cheers doesn’t qualify that bar for entry.

And, yes, “reality” series hangouts are eligible.

Your entry can take any form, as long as you explain your choice.

Send the entry (one per contestant), including your mailing address and daytime phone number, to Jennifer Nixon at 121 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, Ark., 72201 or jnixon@arkansasonline.com. Entries must be received no later than 3 p.m. July 19.

The reader with the best-written entry will win the chance to choose from Judge Nixon’s Fabulous Prize Pile of TV DVD sets.

Who can enter: Anyone except the winner of the last contest, Hayley Himstedt of Conway, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC employees.

Note to privacy-conscious readers: We do not compile lists of mail or e-mail addresses for evil plots or marketing purposes. All entries are destroyed after the judge has selected her winner.
