ROBERT WAYNE BRIMER, age 50, of Mabelvale died Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born Sept. 22, 1959 in Little Rock. Robert was machinist for the Larco Company and a member of Barnett Baptist Church in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Brimer. Survivors, son, Casey Brimer, Mabelvale; daughters, Kindsey Payne, Cabot; Charlene Brimer, North Little Rock; mother, Wilma Brimer, Mabelvale; sisters, Robin Yarberry and Sharon Ogle, both of Mabelvale; grandchildren, Mallory Payne and Cyle Brimer. CHARLES A. DONALDSON of Little Rock passed away on June27, 2010. Born in Little Rock on May 11, 1920, the ninth of 10 children to John Henry Donaldson and Mary Eakin Krementz Donaldson. As a member of the U.S. Army, Charles servedhis country in the Medic Corp in France during World War II.A graduate of Hendrix College, he attended the Ray Vogue School of Design in Chicago and worked in interior design and as a decorator for over 35 years. His artistic talents encompassed painting, photography and calligraphy. He was especially known for his original Christmas and Easter cards. Charles loved classical music, especially opera and his beloved dog, Beau. As a devoted follower of Christ, his faith sustained him thru many trials and tribulations and especially his recent health issues, while he maintained a positive outlook. A member of Fellowship Bible Church, he cherished his time there praising and serving the Lord. He touched the lives of many young people through the years as a Sunday School teacher and mentor, as well as influencing his many nieces and nephews who have great respect and love for him.

Charles is survived by his sister, Roselyn Frederick of Little Rock, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends, all who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at the Fellowship Bible Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204, (501)661-9111.

NORMAN RAY DYE was borne on the wings of Angels to hisheavenly home on Friday the 25th of June. He graduated Sylvan Hills High School in 1972, retired as a Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam, and was a member of SherwoodFirst Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Baker Dye, of North Little Rock; mother, Velma Dye Waymire, and stepfather, Floyd Jerrel Waymire, both of Sherwood; stepson, Kendtrix Edmondson, of Little Rock; granddaughter, Nadia McKoy Edmondson, of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, William Richard Dye and wife, Nancy, of Weatherford, Texas, and James David Dye of Benton; stepbrother, Steve Waymire; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William S. Dye.

KENNETH LOUIS HARRIS, 71, of Little Rock, passed away June 24, 2010. He was born Dec. 19, 1938 in Benton, Ark., to the late A.W. and Eula Harris. Kenneth was a member of the Rubicon Lodge #627 and worked many years at Alcoa as a Machinist. He was a member of the Mt. Ida Baptist Church and his home church was Kentucky Missionary Baptist Church of Benton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Imogene Harris; brothers, H.W. and T.O. Harris. Survivors, daughter, Charolett Renai Wallis, son, Kenneth Lynn Harris, step son, Paul Fisher, sisters, Pauline Tittle and June Vinyard, many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Pallbearers will be Larry Tittle, Bryson Tittle, Gary Harris, Eric Vineyard, Derwin Harris and Ethan Harris. Chapel Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. MADGE MILLSAPPS, 99, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday,June 27, 2010. She was a charter member of Park Hill Baptist Church and retired from North Little Rock High School.

She is survived by her son, Don Millsapps and wife, Fran,of Little Rock; two daughters, Jo Oury and husband, Byron, of North Little Rock and Gail Clippard and husband, Mike, of Dexter, Mo.; grandchildren, Kelly Barnhart, Scott Millsapps, Steve Oury, Michael Clippard, Brandon Clippard; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marie Walker, of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Corpier, Tina Cotton; and brother, L.A. Tolleson. SYBLE McPHERSON WALTERS, 103, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010. She was born Feb. 13, 1907, in Searcy, Ark., the oldest child of Robert and Clara McPherson. Syble moved to North Little Rock as an infant, and lived there until she married Herman Walters of Texarkana. She was widowed in 1965, and returned to live in North Little Rock where she was a very active member of the North Little Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church serving for 28 years as church clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by Jean Harper and husband, George, with whom she made her home for the last several years, as well as other nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

ALEXANDER - Lee Roy Runnells, 61, of Alexander passed June 272010. He was born December 17, 1948, and raised in Vimy Ridge by the late Joe and Elizabeth (Sissy) Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Chris and wife,Nikki, of Alexander; daughter, Rhonda and husband, Garrett, of North Little Rock; step-daughter, Cindy of Mabelvale; step-son, Jason and wife, Linda, of Alexander; grandchildren, Beth, Kathryn, Dylan, Cassidy, Abigail, Breanna, Cecelia, Zoe, Cooper and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Jackie.

Lee was a true American. He truly loved his country. He served a short stint in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He was a 30 year employee of Affiliated Foods. Lee loved motor sports and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He also loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He looked forward to his trips to Orange Beach, Ala., with his wife, Nancy, every year. Lee was an avid fisherman as well.

BATESVILLE - Owen E. Shaw, 95, of Batesville died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at a Little Rock Hospital. He was born September 20, 1914, in Bellefonte, Ark., and was the son of Carl E. and Eula (Brown) Shaw. Owen was raised in Mount Pleasant, Ark., but spent his adult life in Batesville.He taught school for many years and spent the last 20 years of his working life as a district manager for Modern Woodman of America Insurance Company. He was well known and respected for his many hours of community service through many organizations, primarily Kiwanis Club, where he was named Citizen of the Year twice. Owen was a lifelong member of Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Jacqueline “Sue” Shaw; two brothers: Noel Carl Shaw, Marvin Shaw; and one sister: Edith McClure. He is survived by his son and daughterin-law: Fred G. and Carolyn Shaw of Little Rock; three grandchildren: Greg Shaw, Tim Shaw and Denise Pierce; one niece: Brenda Terral and her husband, Jim of Little Rock; and one nephew: Mike Shaw of Gainesville, Florida.

BENTON - Elizabeth Jean Huchingson Harrington, belovedwife of Leroy John Harrington Jr., devoted mother of Elizabeth Jean, Mary Nan and Rebecca Alice, and dear friend of many throughout her life, died June 21, 2010. “Jeannie”was born November 12, 1927, in Benton, Ark., where she lived until 1965, when Leroy came to El Paso as general agent for the Aetna Life Insurance Company. Jeannie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics from Henderson State College, now Henderson State University. Known for her warm hospitality, she made her home a place of love, friendship, and refreshment of spirit. She has passed on a rich heritage of pleasure in preparing good food and welcoming all to the table.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents Fleetwood Salley Huchingson and George Gordon Huchingson, and her sister Mary Lee Huchingson Brown. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Leroy Harrington, Jr., her daughters and their husbands, Jeannie and Phil Buskirk, Nan Napier and Sam Paredes, and Becky and Don Houghton; grandchildren, Stefan Pharies, Alice Carter, Hilary Pharies, Rebecca Napier-Moore, Creed Napier, and Gentrye Houghton; greatgrandchildren, Isis Cunningham, Micah, Lorelei and Finn Carter, and Isabel Napier-Moore.

A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, Jeannie was active and served in manycapacities at Trinity First United Methodist Church. She had a special heart for the Methodist Women’s Circle organization, which supported and embraced her during and after her own mother’s death when she was a girl of 19.

CONWAY - Helen Louise Payne Malpica, 93, of Conwaypassed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. She was born July 25, 1916, in Quitman, to the late William Bennett Payne and Hattie Allison Payne. She was preceded in death by herhusband, Fred W. Malpica; sisters, Florence Payne and Minnie Payne Harrell; and brothers, Willie Payne and Hugh Payne. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a graduate of Central College for Women in Conway, a 55 year member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church,a member of the 20th Century Club, Chapter E. P.E.O., volunteer at Arkansas Children’s Colony and a Cub Scout leader.

She is survived by her children, Larry P. Malpica and wife Hilda of Conway; Mary M. CROSSETT - Wesley Lloyd Maxwell, age 73, of Crossett passed away Monday, June 28, 2010. He was born on December 20, 1936 in Crossett to his late parents, Wesley R. and Audrey Roberts Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell was an active member and deacon of Beulahland Assembly of God Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family and his numerous Church activities were his life. Mr. Maxwell retired from Georgia Pacific Corp. as an employee in the tissue machine room after 43 years of employment.

Survivors include: his wife, Sadie Kelley Maxwell; two daughters, Karla Smith (Charlie) and Rhonda Guin, all of Crossett; two grandchildren, Brooke Guin and Shawn Guin (Anna); one brother, Kenneth Maxwell of Johnsville, Ark.; two sisters, Juanita Maxwell and Edith Paccio, both of Crossett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

GOULD - Rosalind Lewis Granger Smith, 97, of Gould, died Sunday. She was born June 1, 1913 in Gould, Ark., to the late Oran Lee and Rosa Lea Rogers Granger. She was retired from Gould school food services and the former city recorder and treasurer, and water collection for the city of Gould. She was a member of Disciples of Christ Church at Gould.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas PriceSmith; two sons, Thomas Price Smith Jr. and T. Ronnie Smith; and one daughter, Amy Carol Smith. Survivors include son, Zif H. Smith of Little Rock, daughter, Gloria S. Wright of Monticello, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-greatgrandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Dr. Ron Smith, Bro. Robin Leonard, and Bro. C.C. Hodges will officiate. HAZEL VALLEY - Bonnie Lou Paschal, 97, of Hazel Valley, Ark., died peacefully in her home June 27, 2010. She was born January 14, 1913, the daughter of Miles Nickell and Ruth Wallis Nickell in the same home. She was the fifth of six children.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Vance Paschal; a daughter, Patsy Colleen Doolin; grandchildren, Kristopher Doolin, Dean Edwin Paschal, Jeremy Paschal and Wendell Sallee.

A lifelong educator, Bonnie began teaching in the one room school house at Durham while a young woman. She received her M.S.E. from the University of Arkansas in 1958. She taught in one room school houses in Hazel Valley, Durham, Black Oak, Whitehouse and Sunset, retiring from Elkins after 35 years. She was an avid gardener, enthusiastically sharing the seasonal bounty of her large garden with all her visitors. She often declared gardening was her therapy. She was also a quilter, rancher and local historian. She wrote a column in the Washington County Observer for many years.

She is survived by: two sons, Jerry V. Paschal and his wife Deloris of Elkins, John Waldon Paschal and his wife Karen of Fayetteville; two daughters, Mary R. Sallee of the Brannon Mountain Community, Janie L. Noisewater and her husband Dolan of Hazel Valley; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren. She was lovingly cared for in her home her final years by caregivers Tonya Guthrie, Janie Noisewater and Duncan Noisewater Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 1 at Nickell Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Dennis. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will be in Nickell Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel. MONTICELLO - Kathleen Cox, age 81, of Monticello died June 28, 2010 at Monticello Healthcare. She was born in Drew County on August 24, 1928. Kathleen was a homemaker and loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and the Second Baptist Church of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alberta McHan Tribble, and one brother, Travis Tribble. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Waymon Cox of Monticello; three daughters, Sandra Cox Adcock, Brenda Brannon and husband, Roger of Monticello, and Jada Spence and husband, Kenny of Magnolia. She is also survived by three sisters, Nellie Mae Watts of North Little Rock, Pauline Daril and husband, Raymond of Pine Bluff, and Mary Kaufman and husband, Lin, of Albany, Ore.; one brother, Charles Wayne Tribble and wife, Joan, of El Dorado, and six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

MORRILTON - Edwin “Stan” Atkinson, age 79, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. He was born November 5, 1930, in Wooster, Arkansas, a son of John Arthur Atkinson and Claircy Bernice Stanton. He was a member of Portland Missionary Baptist Church and retired mechanic for Coca Cola. PINE BLUFF - Dorothy Knowles Glasco, 79, of PineBluff, died at home June 26, 2010. Born October 23, 1930 in Homer, Louisiana, a daughter of Willie and Velma Tuggle Knowles, she received her early education in Homer,graduating from St. John High School there in 1947. She attended Grambling University in Grambling, Louisiana for three years. Moving to California, she resided in Berkeley and Oakland for many years. She married Alga Lee Glasco in Oakland March 9, 1953. Mr. Glasco died August 22, 1993. An instructional assistant in the Oakland Public School System for more than 25 years, she retired June 22, 1996, moving to Pine Bluff in 2001. In Oakland, she was a member of Greater Cooper AME Zion Church, serving there as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, church Trustee, Director of the youth program, and life member and chairperson of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society. In Pine Bluff, she attended Cherry Street AME Zion Church. Elected 2003-2004 Diane’s Adult Health Daycare Fair Silver Queen, December 19, 2003 was declared “Queen Dorothy Glasco Day” by Mayor DutchKing.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Glasco and wife, Deborah, of Columbia, Maryland, Alfred Glasco and wife, Cynthia, of Vacaville, California; four daughters, Vivian Wright and husband, Steven, of Pine Bluff, LaRita Zang of Pine Bluff, Linda Leak of Toby Hanna, Pennsylvania, Sheryl Glasco of Richmond, California; brother, Presker Knowles of San Diego, California; sister, Claudine Daniels of Homer, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Larry Glasco, Jr., Steven Wright, Jr., Brandi Wright, Jaimie Wright, Davou Zang, Jr., Arthur Leak, Alfred Glasco Jr., Alexis Glasco, and Victoria Leak.

STUTTGART - Gloria Maylene Oliver Dickson, 70, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Baptist Health-Little Rock. Gloria was born September 16, 1939, in Stuttgart to Thomas Henry and Effie Mae Oliver. Gloria, a lifelong resident of Stuttgart, attended St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was employed at Mack’s Prairie Wings for the last 14 years.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Milton Oliver and Thomas Henry “Dude” Oliver, and one sister, Lucille Dorsch. Survivors are her husband and best friend of 52 years, Richard Allen “Dickie” Dickson Sr.; two sons, Allen (Jane) Dickson and Lynn (Natalie) Dickson, both of Stuttgart. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Bailey and Melissa Dickson, Caleb Dickson, Spencer Dickson and Skyler Dickson, all of Stuttgart; two sisters, Dolores (Lloyd) Synco of Humnoke and Mary Lou Howard of Pine Bluff; three brothers, Roger Oliver of Humnoke, J.L. Oliver of Helena and Dennis (Margaret) Oliver of Stuttgart; sister-in-law, Juanita Oliver of Stuttgart; and a host of nieces and nephews. To her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, she was affectionately known as Glo, and she will be forever remembered by her entire family.

WYE MOUNTAIN - Lisa Kay Strackbein Hill, age 45, of WyeMountain, Roland, Ark., died unexpectedly Friday, June 25, 2010, and stepped into the immediate presence of her heavenly Father. Lisa was a joy to all who knew her and never met astranger. She lived every day to the fullest, even though she was battling multiple sclerosis. She was a full-time pharmacist at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock, and loved working with veterans on the Help Line, and with her many priceless friends at the VA. She was born on August 10, 1964, and lived her entire life in the Little Rock area. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School and played trumpet with the band. She continued her study in music at Henderson University, later studied math and science at UALR, and received a PharmD from UAMS.

Lisa is survived by her beloved husband of five years, Gary Hill; her mother, Arlene Strackbein; her sisters Denise Strackbein and Sharon Burrall and family. She is predeceased by her father, Gil Strackbein; grandparents, Charles and Evelyn Boudraand William and Selma Strackbein, uncle Tom Boudra, and nephew, David Burrall and many other relatives and friends.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - David Foster Arnholt, 54 of Knoxville, Tennessee died Saturday, June 26, 2010. David was a graduate of Searcy High School and Arkansas State University. He worked in store fixture and merchandising design.

Surviving is his wife, Karen Fisher Arnholt and daughter, Kelly Arnholt of Knoxville, Tennessee; his mother, Musette Arnholt of Searcy; brother, Fred Arnholt and his wife Phyllis of Miramar Beach, Florida; sister, Gara Toohey and her husband Jim of Memphis, Tennessee.

David will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, friends and neighbors.Throughout the years in his business travels, David made many friends with whom he constantly kept in touch. He was a lover of animals and spent many happy years with his dogs, Sandy and Maggie. David was an avid tennis player and sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
