ARKADELPHIA — Clark County officials say a Louisiana man has drowned on Lake DeGray.
Sheriff David Turner said Wednesday that 60-year-old Landen Alexander, of Gonzales, La., drowned after going down a slide on a rented houseboat near Point No. 2 at the lake. Dispatchers received a 911 call at about 6:12 p.m. Tuesday.
Turner says Alexander went to the top of the slide and hit his head on the vessel as he came down. A woman tried to help Alexander but couldn’t.
A dive team recovered Alexander’s body about 8:15 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
